I was commissioned by a band to design a distinctive logo that would serve as the cornerstone of their branding across all merchandise. The goal was to create a visual identity that felt mellow and laid-back, while still standing out. Through close collaboration, I delivered a design that captured the essence of their sound and style.

As a soft rock band, it was important that their branding conveyed a sense of musical identity and appeal to anyone who might come across it on their merchandise. After giving them multiple designs, I was able to narrow it down to the final design.
The design process essentially started from the ground upwards, with the band telling me several ideas that they had, originally starting with a vector art logo of their instrumental equipment, and ending with a logo that plays into their band name and has a more original feel to it.

The final design incorporated several intentional elements. The circle around the imagery is intentionally thinner towards its left side, mimicking an eclipse. Additonally, the clients had a difficult time finding a font that they were satisfied with, wanting something that was easily readable, but mimicked the look of roots underneath the tree.
To meet this vision, I took the liberty of crafting a custom, original font, ensuring the final design was not only unique but aligned perfectly with their concept and expectations.
After finalizing the logo to the band’s satisfaction, I collaborated with their preferred merchandise retailer to develop print-ready layouts and oversee the production of branded items, which were later sold at their concerts.
